I agree whole heartedly with Lacy on the way she describes her incredible mother! We have been friends for 15 years and our children have grown up together! There has never been a time that she was not available if I needed a ear or a fun night out!I truly am amazed how she can stay on top of everything she does... and does it like it is no big deal!!If there is anyone I know who deserves this honor of being the best midsouth mom it is definitely Kim Rippee!I love her and her family to pieces!

Week Four Semi- Finalist--JACQUELINE ELLINGTON-McCOY!
Nominated by her son, he said this about his MOM, "I would like to like to nominate my mom as the most beautiful mom. My name is Tevon and I am her son. I was diagnosed recently as a diabetic and this was really hard for my family to face, especially for me. That's the last thing I wanted to hear as a 14 year old. I am the youngest in the history of our family to have diabetes. I think my mom should win because she did things for me she didn't have to. My blood sugar level had to be checked twice every night -12 midnight and 3 a.m for four weeks. She would get up both times to check it for me and wake me if my blood sugar was to low or to high to give me what I needed to make a normal level. Then she would still get up at 5a.m. to get ready for work. She loves my sister and I so much that she gets us up early enough so that we can have a good breakfast at home. She then works all day as a customer greeter and substitute teacher and still comes home to make sure we have a well balanced meal. I think she is a great mom. She does everything she can to make sure we have what we need. She loves us unconditionally even when we test her patience continually. I know all of those things can age a woman faster but I think she still looks great and I love her."Thank youTevon Ivy

She has a keen eye for style, and her giving heart lends a little love to every customer who comes in.She's a splendid mom of three beautiful children - anna, john-david, and gray lunsford, and has been married a decade to the love of her life, david lunsford. She is a marathon runner. She is a devoted christian, and raises her children with strong christian beliefs. She is politically astute, and always has an intelligent thought about current events. She is always willing to offer advice and help with all the other mothers in the family, calling on her experience as a mom to help us through the hardest times. She uses great diplomacy to send the most difficult messages; and always does so with love and compassion. And she is truly one of the most stunning women we know, as you can see.She exudes joy wherever she goes; always has kind and encouraging words, and is always, always available to help someone in need, even at great cost to herself. We love her and think she deserves the mid-south's most beautiful mom award. Congrats Wendy!

Congratulations to Tamika Pruitt, she is our second semifinalist in our Most Beautiful Mom contest!!
She was nominated by her daughter, Timoniqua. She described her mom by saying, "My sister and I saw the posting for midsouthmoms.com and felt that we should enter our mom. I think that our mom should be the most beautiful mom because she's not only beautiful on the outside but she is beautiful on the inside. Our mom goes to extreme limits for all the children we know not just us, whether it is just giving a bath or protecting and helping out with school work. She doesn't have a job and can't find one after going to college 2 times, but she still makes a way to get us everything we need and what she wants us to have. There has been times when she had no idea of how our rent and light bill would be paid, still she made it happen. Every day of her life seems like a struggle to us because the only help she had was my grandma and she passed in July of 2002. Every since then my mom has had a lot on her plate, yet she keep holding on. Our mom understands it's not easy beng a child, that is why she listens, talk and offer any help she can. All my friends at home and school love her, and I have a lot of friends. On the average day we have anywhere from 6 to 10 children in our home regularly. I admire our mom because in the midst of her looking for a job, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, going to church, cooking the food and writing songs; she still makes time to go back and forward to our schools throughout the week, play with us, dance, help out with my ROTC Drill Team, my sister's choir class and being a good parent. While doing all this she still manages to keep smiling and going on day after day, and she's pretty to be 31 with 3 children. Now that's what I call a beautiful mom! Please pick our mom as midsouths beautiful mom."
Congrats again to Tamika! We will announce the winner on 98.9 KIM FM on November 26.
