I was waiting to see how this story turned out.  I think tasering was the right choice and I do believe that the intention was to keep the officers from potentially hurting the girl while cuffing her or otherwise restraining her.

I appreciate that there are supposed to be cameras on to make sure the taser is used only in the proper circumstance especially in a scenerio like this one.  The officer should certainly be punished for not following the protocol especially in a scenerio like this one with a 10-yr-old girl and always.
